There are images that one associates with the United States as much as the national flag, the „Stars & Stripes“. The famous Uncle Sam recruiting poster from WWI is definitely one of them. Its symbolic character was recognized in a senate resolution in 1961. Since then, Uncle Sam is now officially the personification of the United States. The „We Can Do It“ motif of Howard Miller is considered a symbol for strong women worldwide. Originally this image was supposed to motivate women to help with the production of military helmet liners during WWII.
