We celebrate our 25th anniversary
It all started in 1995, when Teja Engel had various souvenirs for the family in his luggage after a visit to Canterbury, England. Enchanted by the nostalgic metal signs of old English traditional brands, the idea matured to establish a distribution of retro articles. A short time later, he was selling those same English metal signs at various street festivals in Berlin. Together with his wife Petra, he opened the first shop near Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm in November 1995.
Desire for German and internationally known brands.
Over the years, we realized that the market for traditional English brands was limited, whereas national brands of importance and international brands of world renown were very popular. Soon after, we found the perfect production partner in a long-established tin toy manufacturer for our first own collection of high-quality metal signs. These were produced using traditional manufacturing methods with designs from international licensors.
The small retail business developed into a wholesale company.
The retail shop was abandoned, and we moved into office and warehouse space, first as subtenants, then later at a new location with a larger warehouse and space for more staff. Our competent and energetic team grew continuously, and the course was set for a successful wholesale company.
From Betty Boop, Tuborg and Pepsi to Mercedes-Benz, Harley-Davidson and Coca-Cola.
In the beginning, there were hesitant attempts with smaller licence themes, but in the following years, Nostalgic-Art entered into partnerships with respected and well-known brands. A unique range of world-famous brands was created.
Loyal customers and worldwide distributors.
The Nostalgic-Art collection grew rapidly and more and more retro products with cult status were created.
The success is no coincidence. A dedicated team, a keen sense for vintage flair and above all the close and cooperative partnership with customers in over 50 countries worldwide are the reason for this success!
