„MOTOmania“ at Nostalgic-Art

Since 1995, both passionate bikers and children have enjoyed the illustrated stories about Duc, Harry, Hinnerk, Bernd, Holli and their two-wheeled vehicles. They are the freaky main characters of the quirky cult comic series MOTOmania. Just last year, the cartoon and comic series, known from the German magazine MOTORAD celebrated its 25th anniversary. This year we decided to bring the legendary illustrations to our Nostalgic-Art typical products and proudly present the new themed world around the motorcycle. The products are perfect for mechanics, inventors, bikers or fans of the series. Four different pillboxes are available here which, after consumption of the delicious peppermint dragees, are also well suited for the safe storage of small parts such as screws, nuts or pistons.

More space is offered by our aroma tins with a capacity of 1.3 liters. For storing money, we have a themed money box in the shape of an oil barrel in our assortment. In a hobby workshop, the matching hanging sign made of sheet metal with the inscription “Schrauber Bude” should not be missing. The MOTOmania Story

“With a sharp drawing pencil, a lot of love for technical details and an extraordinary flair for situational comedy, Aue takes aim at the common biker clichés.” This is how the newspaper Frankfurter Neue Presse aptly describes the author of the MOTOmania cartoon and comic series. Holger Aue bought his first own motorcycle in 1978 and quickly lost himself in the wonderful world of two-wheelers. He discovered his passion for drawings and caricatures in his early childhood. He finally professionalized his talent by studying illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. Fortunately. His cartoons became well known in the German-speaking world through publications in MOTORRAD magazine.

Since 1994, the MOTOmania stories have appeared regularly and have always put a smile on bikers’ faces. In addition to the cartoons in the magazine, the author also published its very own comic books, which still enjoy cult status today. True to the motto “No Limits – No Police – No Problems!” he deals with typical clichés and the main sources of danger for every biker: speed limits, speed traps, noise regulations and, last but not least, Sunday drivers in their small cars. Holger Aue knows the biker scene very well and many of the motorcycle comic adventures are based on his own experiences.

High quality production

The sheet metal products, such as the hanging sign or the various cans, are made of robust sheet steel. The designs in the style of MOTOmania illustrations are embossed on several levels of the sheet metal and give the design a high-quality 3D look, as well as a pleasant feel. The various cups are made of sturdy ceramic. The designs of the magnets of the nine-piece set are coated with epoxy resin and ensure a long life of the product.
